Funeral services will be 2 pm today at Crestwood Chapel for Mrs. Willodean Gilbert age 89 of Gadsden who died Saturday. Reverend Daniel Barkley will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home announcing

Mrs. Gilbert loved family gatherings and would cook for hours to make holidays special , raised gardens and canned what she raised. She was a longtime member of East Gadsden Presbyterian Church. She loved and cherished her family, and they will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by husband Stancell, sons Larry, Donald ,Ricky and daughter Renee Mardis, great grand- child Annabelle, brothers Delmer and Buster and sister Ruby Joe Wilkes.

She is survived by son Gary(Teresa) Gilbert, grandson Brandon(Brandi) Gilbert, Stan Gilbert, Miranda(Sean) Smith,5 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild, sister Bonnie Lyles and a large extended family.

Special thanks to Mexie and Bennette Elkins, her caregivers at Meadowood Retirement center, nurses and staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, SICU staff and 8 ^th floor nurses and emergency room Dr. Andy Vann.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 1 pm until the time of service.
