William "Billy" Payne, age 66,of Nashville, passed away on July 13th, 2023, . Funeral services will be held at Crestwood Funeral Home on Sunday July 16th, 2023 at 3 pm. Mike Alldredge will be officiating the service.
Billy will be remembered for being kind, considerate, and loving. He loved life and never complained. He could live off the land if he had to. His talent for music was amazing. Guitar, harmonica, keyboards, saxophone and many other instruments; he could play them all. Billy was loved and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father Raymond "Warren" Payne; grandparents William and Majorie Lay and Monroe and Mattie Payne.
He is survived by his mother Willene Lay Newman; sisters Tracy (Mark) Shortnacy and Margie (David) Stetson; niece Carli (Ryan) Helms; nephews Blake (Donna)Patterson, Thomas(Tera) Shortnacy, and Bobby (Crystal) Lee; great niece Taetum Shortnacy and nephew Easton Shortnacy and many other beloved family members and friends.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials may be made  to your favorite church or charity.
