William Robert Lowe was born in Hokes Bluff Alabama in 1925. He graduated from Glencoe High School and attended Howard College, now Samford University. During World War II he served in the Merchant Marine in the North Atlantic.  He was retired from a long career in variety store management with S.H. Kress and J.J. Newberry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Laura Smith Lowe, his parents, William Dolphus Lowe and Nellie Rudd Lowe, his brothers Oscar F. Lowe and Allen W. Lowe, and his sister Martha Nell Lowe Wagnon. He is survived by his son William David Lowe and many nieces,  great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 10, 2021, 11:00 AM at Crestwood Funeral Home Chapel.
