Funeral will be 11 am Friday at Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Wanda Ray of Gadsden who died Tuesday. Reverend Daniel Barkley will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Ray was a member of Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church for her entire life and was the longest active member. She was also a lifelong resident of Gadsden. She will be remembered for her love of the Lord and as a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Ray, parents Nell and Alonzo Weems, brothers Jimmy, Edward, and Thomas Weems.
She is survived by her children Melanie and Scott Hutchinson, Michael and Christie Ray, Melissa and Ken Borders, and David and Brenda Ray. Grandchildren Julie and Mike Scarborough, Rick and Peggy Hutchinson, Joseph and Leah Borders, great-grandchildren Will and Sam Scarborough, Kate, Claire, Henry, Jack, Sims, Miles, Luke, and Charlotte Hutchinson. Brother Doug (Judy) Weems, sisters in-law Ramona Weems and Geraldine Weems.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will accept flowers, or memorials may be made to Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends at the Church Friday from 10 am until the time of service.
