Funeral services for Wanda Jean Dobbs, age 80 of Gadsden who died Thursday, were held Sunday at 3:00pm at Crestwood Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Garrard officiated. Burial was at Crestwood Cemetery.
Wanda Dobbs was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Kenneth Welch Dobbs. Mrs. Dobbs attended Etowah High School. She worked for South Central Bell for 30 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughter Debbie Dobbs Thompson, son in law Mark A. Thompson, grandson Ian Thompson and chosen grandson Clark (Stephanie) Thompson. Her Aunt Betty Letner and cousins who were as close as sisters; Beverly Gunnells, Glenda Roberts and Sam Entrekin. Brother in law John Dobbs, sister in law Deanne Dobbs, Chosen brother George Weldon King. Her two chosen great grandsons, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherry Street Baptist Church, 520 Cleveland Ave, Attalla, Al 35954.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Gunnells, Ed Gowens, Greg Dobbs, Freddie Dobbs, Jerry King, Clark Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were John Dobbs, George Weldon King.
