Graveside services will be 11 am Wednesday February 24, 2021, at Crestwood Cemetery, for Mr. Walter Douglas Thompson, age 76, of Etowah County who died Sunday.  Pastor Thomas Glenn will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home announcing.

Walter was an Etowah High Graduate. He was a proud Navy veteran who took pride in serving God and his country. Walter enjoyed electronics, cars, music, and Alabama Football. He loved meeting friends at Huddle House and Tony's Bar B Q.

He is preceded in death by parents John B and Evelyn Thompson, baby brother John Aaron Thompson and sister Pamela Thompson Phillips.

He especially loved his family and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by sisters, Nancy Phillips Harrell, Anita Brewster, Lynnette McFarland, Becky (Arthur) Savage and numerous nieces and nephews.
