Mr. Walter O'Neal Everett died May 11, 2016 with his family by his side. A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery with visitation at Crestwood Funeral Home 1 P.M. until time of service. Elder Don Rochester will be officiating.
He was born March 14, 1924 and was a lifelong resident of Gadsden, AL.
Mr. Everett worked many years at Republic Steel, He and his wife of 65 years, owned several coin operated laundries. He was a spiritual man with a kind heart and affection for all animals. He was a devoted husband and dedicated much of his time and energy to his family members, including his wide and daughter until they both passed away after extended illnesses.
Mr. Everett is survived by his daughters, Linda Morrison (Royce Lyles) and Deanna Everett; five grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Jean Everett and daughter Rosalyn Jones,
The family would like to personally thank all his care takers, Regina, Melinda, Carolyn, Anne, Michelle, and Susan. Also, special thanks to the many aides and nurses at Paden Assisted Living and Amedisys Home Health and Hospice. Thank you to Dr. Harper and his staff, for overseeing his care for many years.
