Funeral services for Mr. Vondell Chamblee age 79 of Gadsden who died June 4th will be held in Crestwood Chapel Friday June 12th at 11 am. Reverend Bruce Word will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mr. Chamblee was a Goodyear retiree with over 30 years of service. He will be remembered as a family man who loved life, enjoyed time with family, fishing, gardening, animals of any kind whether they be strays or pets. He opened his home to teenage children of family members when they needed a home. He loved them and they loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Amanda Ann Chamblee, parents Sylvester and Minnie Chamblee and 6 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by daughter Pam (David) Sides, grandchildren Kelli(Robert) Brevoort, Kaitlin, and Kelsea Sides, sister Alcy Simmonetti and special family members Sandra Qualls, Harvey Fail and Sheila McDowell and a large extended family.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
