Funeral will be at 10 am Wednesday at Crestwood Chapel for Mrs. Voncile Thomas age 92 of Altoona, who died Sunday. Reverend Jesse Self will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
She was an avid gardener and loved to watch the hummingbird feeders she placed in her yard. She also loved fishing, especially for bass.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alton Thomas; son, Dale Thomas and her sisters, Kat, Pauline and Mary Sue.

She is survived by her son, Wayne (Cindy) Thomas; grandchildren, Marie (Jerry) Holliday, Donald (Vickie) Thomas and Jonathan Thomas and 9 great grandchildren.

Wayne wants to express his love and appreciation to Wanda Ensor and Cheri Sims for the love and care given to his mother. Through them, he was able to keep his promise to his mother. Also, the family would like to say thank you to the Alacare nurses and staff. Whatever was needed, was given.

The family will receive friends tonight from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home.
