Graveside services were held yesterday for Vivian Jacqueline Brown, 83, at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home directed the service. Mrs. Brown was a lady of deep faith, who will be remembered most as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her life exemplified Proverbs 31:10-31. She was content in whatever circumstances life presented her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, H.G. "Lad" Brown; parents, Joe and Nora Belle Harvey of Gadsden; and brothers, Bill Harvey and Melvin Eschol Harvey. She is survived by three daughters, Terri (Lynn) Johnson, Amanda (Phillip) Penland and Jan (James) Griffith; sister, Betty (Charles) Handy; and grandchildren, Andrew (Megan) Johnson, Joshua (Brittany) Johnson, Hayley Penland, Lindsey (Sean) White, Cammie (Jason) McFarling, Matthew (Hailey) Griffith, Belinda Overton; numerous great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital. The family would like to express special thanks to Lawley Hospice Care and heartfelt thanks to Stacy, Barbie, Candice, Rhonda and Kelly.
