Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 3, 2021 at Crestwood Funeral Home for Virginia "Nana" Washburn, age 79, of Birmingham who died on Monday November 1, 2021. Lee Bear and Cephus Prophitt will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Wasburn prayed devoutly and was a wonderful cook. Her dressing and biscuits were unbelievably great. Her motto was "faith, family, and Alabama football." She loved her family dearly and adored her grandchildren. She was Nana to all and will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband Royce, sisters Patricia "Ann" Sharpton, Glenda Barnett, and Judy Pollard, brother Donnie Vickery, and grandchildren Dustin Edward Washburn and Michael and Michelle Englebert.

Mrs. Washburn is survived by her brother James (Gloria) Vickery, daughters Donna (Joel) Englebert and Debbie (Wendell) Prophitt, sons Royce Leon (Sandy) Washburn and Edward (Debra) Washburn, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Visitation will be on Wednesday November 3, at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. and lasting until the time of service.
