Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Laird age 78 of Gadsden who died Tuesday will be 2:30 Friday at Crestwood Chapel. Troy Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Laird was a retired nursing assistant having worked in the E.R. at The Holy Name of Jesus Hospital , then working at Northeast Orthopedics and retiring from The Orthopedic Center.
Mrs. Laird is preceded in death by her first husband Robert Clark Blackmon, son Mark Steven Blackmon, brother James Noial Ragan, sisters Hazel Juanita Freeman and Eva Ruth Lindsey.
She is survived by husband Gary Davis Laird, sons Ronald Clark Blackmon and Danny Lee Blackmon; grandchildren Virginia Ann Lindsey, Mark Steven Blackmon Jr., Christian Lee Blackmon and Noah Jacob Blackmon, stepdaughters Sherry Bain, Carla Laird and Leigh(Scott) Taylor.
