Graveside service for Mrs. Violet "Polly" Pate, 93, Gadsden, who died Monday, May 30, 2016, will be 10:30 a.m. today at Crestwood Cemetery. Bart Gunter will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
"Polly" was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of Edgewood Baptist Church.
Among those who preceded her in death are her beloved husband of 64 years, Euel Pate; parents, Harry and Evie Ware; siblings, Roberta "Biddie" McCoy and A.J. "Fat" Ware; and niece, Freida McCoy Morgan.
She is survived by sons, Jimmy (Jean), Dennis (Vicki) and Terry (Delaine) Pate; sister-in-law, Ilene Pate Venn, Griffin, Georgia; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; "chosen son," Mike Terry; "chosen Ma Ma" and caregiver, Joyce Hardman.
