Funeral services will be at 1pm Tuesday at Crestwood Chapel for Mrs. Vinnie Lou Campmire Walker age 90, of Glencoe who died Saturday, December 5, 2009. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Walker was a member of North Glencoe Baptist Church for over 50 years, serving as a Sunday School teacher and lending her voice to the choir for many of those years. She worked many years as a dental assistant, finishing her career working with Dr. Michael Nimzak.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Walker; parents, Charlie Newton and Rosa Hood Campmire; brothers, Roy (Eunice) Campmire and Harvey (Vada) Campmire; nephews, Lamar Campmire and Jimmy Campmire; nieces, Sarah Jordan and Peggy Gowens; and several in-laws.
She is survived by her nieces, Ruth (Tom) Garrett, Martha Pearce, Juanita (Ray) Bradley; brother-in-law Eulice (Jean) Walker; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to North Glencoe Baptist Church. Special thanks to caregivers Brenda Odell and Debra Munkus.
The family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
