Mrs. Nell Smith Turner, 85, of Gadsden died, Friday, December 22, 2017. Her funeral will be Thursday, December 28 at 1 P.M. in Crestwood Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receives friends 11 A.m. until time of service.
Mrs. Turner was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was loved by all who knew her and will be forever missed. She grew up in the Whiton Community of Crossville, AL on a farm with her parents, four brothers and three sisters. She graduated from Geraldine High School in 1950 and later Gadsden Business College. She worked as a secretary until she married and started her family. She was a member of Kyle Ave. Baptist Church. She was active in her children's schools and enjoyed spending time with her neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth C. Turner; father and mother, John and Bertha Smith; brothers, Thurman Smith, Floyd Smith, Jay Smith and Ollie Smith; sisters, Vona Lee Southerland, Mattie Lou Smith and Verba Troxtel; father in law and mother in law, Leroy and lzo Turner; bothers in law, James Southerland, John Troxtel , Roy Turner, Bobby Turner and Lumon Pate; sister in- law, Annie Ruth Pate.

She is survived by her loving children, Carla Adams (Tony), Kenny Turner (Anna); grandchildren, Ryan Snodgrass, Jonathan Snodgrass, Catie Adams and Reid Adams; brother in law and sister in law, Larry Turner (Sandra); sisters in law, Ellen Turner and Ruth Turner; a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.

Honrary Pall Bearers will be neighbors of Elsmore Blvd. and Fairview Rd
