Mrs. Verna Lynn Ledbetter Hanvey Harkey
Mrs. Verna Lynn Ledbetter Hanvey Harkey was born August 5, 1935 and passed away on August 4, 2022, at 86 years of age. There will be a graveside service at 11AM on Monday, August 8, 2022, at Crestwood Cemetery with Chaplain Mark McGee officiating. The family will recieve friends at Crestwood Funeral Home, prior to the service, from 9 am until 10:30 am. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Mrs. Harkey is preceded in death by her parents Gilbert John Burton Ledbetter and Lucy Lillie Jane Jones Ledbetter; her husbands Williard Oliver Hanvey and Douglas Harkey; infant sisters Josie Mae Ledbetter and Vester Ledbetter; brothers Junior Milton Ledbetter and Austin Ledbetter; sisters Eva Irene Ledbetter West and Juanita Ledbetter Sams; brothers in law Leonard Corbin and Dono Cameron; sisters in law Jamie Hilton Ledbetter and Helen Ledbetter.
She is survived by her daughters Teresa Lynn Hanvey and Pamela Rena Hanvey; sisters Cornelia Ledbetter Cameron and Brenda Faye Ledbetter Corbin Goeckel (Robert); stepchildren Ann Petty (Ray), Debra Johnston (David), and Don Harkey. Mrs. Harkey also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends she loved dearly.
Mrs. Harkey's daughters would like to thank Dr. Ross Vaughn and staff at Tuscaloosa Internal Medicine in Tuscaloosa Alabama for their manyyears of excellent care provided for their mother. They would also like to thank Comfort Care Home Health in Alabaster and Comfort Care Hospice of Pelham for the caring and proffessional teams of caregivvers who took such great care of Mrs. Harkey over the past few months. We are forever grateful.
