Graveside service will be November 6, at Crestwood Cemetery for Vada McCary, age 91, of Rainbow City, who died Monday November 3, 2014. Rev. Lauil Thompson and Brother Dan Mattox will officiate. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct service.

Vada was an active member of the Tabernacle Church. She always enjoyed traveling, square dancing, her flowers and watching her hummingbirds. She was a kind and loving person. She thought of others and made people laugh with her sense of humor.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Rachel McGovern and husband Monty McCary.

She is survived by her son Jimmy McCary; sisters Claudia Hannah, Freda Barton, and Betty Cox; brother Larry Farley; grandchildren Gina (Jeff) Rich, Robert (Theresa) McCary, Jon McGovern, Jeremy McGovern, and Casey McGovern; Vada has eleven very special great grandchildren; lifelong friends Faye Cherry, Dave and Pauline McDaniel, and Margaret Satterfield.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tabernacle Church.

Special thanks to Dr. Torregosa and his staff, and a very special thanks to Brenda Nunn for all her love and care these last few months.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 AM until the hour of service.
