It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Tony Michael (Mike) Murdock on January 13, 2025, at the age of 69. Mike was born on March 21,1955 in Boaz Alabama, to Zeke and Clara Murdock.

As a 1973 graduate of New Hope High School, in New Hope Alabama. Mike enjoyed the reunions and occasional outings with his former classmates. Mike married the love of his life Melissa Jenkins, and they spent 39 years happily married and sharing a beautiful life together. He was known for his strong will, kind spirit, unwavering determination, and fierce love and support for his family and community. Mike and Melissa are members at Hokes Bluff Methodist Church.

After retiring, Mike served part time as a substitute teacher and was a real estate agent and broker in Alabama. He loved to be outdoors doing yard work, landscaping, renovation projects, hosting summertime fun events and playing with his puppies.(sweet Susie and destructive Daisy).

He was preceded in joining The Lord by his father and mother Zeke and Clara Murdock; brother Gary Murdock; sister Jackie Wood; father-in-law, Ray Jenkins and mother-in-law, Judy Jenkins.

Mike is survived by wife Melissa; sister Betty(Ray) Ragsdale, brother-in-law, Rick(Debbie) Jenkins; brother-in-law Gene Wood; sister-in-law Karen Adkison as well as several nieces ,nephews and cousins. Serving as pallbearers are Donald Maples, Joey Pool, Chris Baker, Steve Jenkins, Michael Coon, Jerry Garmany, Eddie Jenkins and David Payne. Honorary Pallbearers are The Class of 1973 New Hope High School. Special thanks to, Dr. Asif Kaleem, Dr. George Robinson, Dr. Peter Scalise III, MD. The Hokes Bluff and Glencoe Fire Departments Rescue Team. All employees at the Circuit Clerks Office. Funeral services are Saturday January 18,2025 under the direction of Crestwood Funeral Home in Gadsden Alabama. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and the service will begin at 1 pm. Eddie Gooch and Noah Meddars are officiating. A private burial will be held in The Crestwood Cemetery on January 20,2025 at 1:00 pm.
