Toney Wayne Smith, age 85, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021.

Family service at Crestwood Cemetery, granddaughter Tiffany Townsend will officiate.

Wayne was a lifetime resident of Etowah County, served in the U.S. Air Force, and worked in construction as a superintendent for many years building America. He loved hobby projects, Alabama Football, Nascar, and had a unique passion for gardening especially growing tomatoes.

He was preceded in death by his parents Herschel and Vertell Smith: sister Vivian Bush: granddaughter Christina Smith and his loving companion of 22 years Faye Bingham Franklin.

Wayne is survived by his children: Rebecca Fox (Paul), Pamela Conway (Steve), and Alvin Smith (Amy); grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchild.
