Tom loved his wife with all of his heart, and was ever proud of his son. He served his country as a Marine, but above all he served his Savior, Jesus Christ, as a Gideon, chaplain, preacher, and non-stop evangelist, praying for everyone he could. He endeavored to tell everyone that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and the only way to God and eternal life. Therefore, everyone should repent and believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. His faith, prayers, and evangelism impacted countless lives, all to the glory of God! And now he is enjoying the presence of his Savior unhindered and uninterrupted in glory!
He was preceded in death by mother Lucille Lee (Lucas) and father Charles Winborn, Sr. (Annie Ruth), brother Charles Winborn Jr. (Eukie), and sister Frances Thomas (Bill).
He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Phyllis Yvonne Moorer Winborn; his son, Dr. Thomas Winborn, Jr. (Carol), and grandchildren: Hannah Grace, John Thomas, Luke Owen, Wyatt Haddon, and Kathryn Mae; stepdaughter Cynthia Lynne Gilliland (Tina) and granddaughter Kieri Nichole; stepson Phillip Guy Cochran (Ellen) and grandchildren: Cara Lee, Melissa Nicole, and Alexander Phillip, and great-granddaughter Myla; granddaughter Misty Price (Alex) and great-grandsons Logan and William.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to North Glencoe Baptist Church.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to North Glencoe Baptist Church, and especially Pastor Thom, for loving and caring for Tom so well. He loved you all and was proud to be a part of your faith family. Thank you for being an example of the gospel to our family.
