Funeral services will be noon Saturday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. Thomas Ray Preston, 70, Gadsden, who died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017.
The Rev. Scott Hassell will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
He was a 1964 graduate of Emma Sansom High and graduated JSU with a bachelor's of science degree. He married the late Nancy Eidson Preston. Thomas was employed with Goodyear for years. He enjoyed work and had been retired for a very short time before his passing. He adored his two sons, Ryan and Robby, spending time with family and friends and pulling for the Crimson Tide.
He is survived by sons Ryan (Jamie) Preston of Rainbow City, and Robby (Lauren) Preston of Birmingham, four grandchildren: J.T., Blaze, Nora and Walker, his mother, Doris Preston, sister, Judy Thornton, brother, Gary (Shelia) Preston, sister-in-law, Marcia Preston and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by wife, Nancy, father, Fred Preston, brother, David Preston and brother-in-law Billy Thornton.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Edgeworth, Bruce Hassell, Doc Holiday, Ronnie Blackwell, Eddie Swafford and Jeff Preston.
