Obituary

Thomas R. Frank, 79, died on Tuesday, May 21 at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina after a brief illness.
A Tennessee native, Tom grew up in Chattanooga before his family relocated to Gadsden, Ala. He attended Gadsden High School and Jacksonville State University. He took a break from college to serve in the United States Air Force for three years, stationed in Hahn, Germany. Returning to JSU, he received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and spent 31 years as a Federal auditor. He retired on his 55th birthday and never looked back.
He was a fan of Auburn football and Atlanta Braves baseball and enjoyed traveling, gardening and visiting casinos. His last trip being to Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was an avid collector of rare and vintage postage stamps, amassing large volumes that he used to launch a successful online stamp business. He was a member of Lexington United Methodist Church.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Margaret "Peggy" Pardue Frank; his parents, Don and Wilma Frank; and his sister, Gayle Askins.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela (Kim) O'Connor; son, Donald (Rini) Frank; grandsons, Solan and Rune O'Connor; sister, Donna (Tim)Barton, his beloved rescued canine companion, Spooky; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his closest high school friends, Nick Greenhaw
and Harmon Jackson.
Tom will be laid to rest at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in Gadsden, Ala. in a private graveside service at a later date.
