Susanne Thompson, age 88, of Boaz, Alabama, passed away on April 30, 2025. A graveside service will be held at Crestwood Cemetery on May 10, 2025, at 11 a.m.

Susanne was born on January 20, 1937, in Berlin, Germany, to parents Ernst and Elle Glockau. At 18, she traveled to Norwich, England, to live with her aunt and work at a local hospital. She later met and married William "Red" Thompson on March 29, 1958, in Norwich, where he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Twenty years and three daughters later, they settled in Boaz, Alabama.

She is survived by her three daughters: Belinda "Belle" Davis (Bill), Karen Mandy (Chuck), and Tina Williams (Tim); two grandsons: Timmy "Trey" Williams and Parker Mandy; and one great-granddaughter, Linore.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of the Library, Boaz, Alabama.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Mastin Room at the Boaz Public Library in Boaz, Alabama.
