Obituary

Susan Alicia Minton (Williams) passed away peacefully at Hospice and Palliative Care Compassus in Birmingham AL on December 30 th , 2022, at the age of 73. Born on July 7, 1949, in Gadsden Alabama to the late Roy Keener and Alice Leone Williams (Schrimsher).
Susan is survived by her husband of 50 years, John Minton. Her sons Phillip Muskett (wife Shari) of Gettysburg PA, and Mark Muskett (wife Dawn) of Westfield IN. Her sister Nancy Wilson, and brother Roy W. "Bubba" Williams (wife Cathy) all of Gadsden AL. She had two brother in-laws David Minton (wife Susan), Tim Minton (wife Theresa), three sister in-laws, Jean White (husband Rick) Carol Malcom, and Ramona Minton, plus their families. She has seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Susan graduated from Gadsden High School in 1968. She retired from State Farm Insurance after 30 years. She was a member of Whorton Bend Memorial Church. Previous Church membership was at Christ Central Church in Rainbow City, formally Central United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir and solo for many years sharing her love of God. She served as President and Vice-President of the Mountain Lakes District of the North Alabama United Methodist Women's Conference. In her retirement she volunteered many hours serving those in need with meals, weekly at Christ Central Church and also annually with the Gadsden CommUnity Thanksgiving Celebration. Susan loved her Lord, her family, her dog, her gardening, and her community.
The family would like to thank St. Vincent's East Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit nurses and physicians for their compassion and care. Special thank you to Hospice and Palliative Care Compassus for their comfort and care in her final hours.
Visitation for friends and family will be conducted at Crestwood Funeral Home, Gadsden AL on January 21, 2023, beginning at Noon. A formal service to follow at 1p.m.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the CommUnity Thanksgiving of Etowah County. The address for
