Memorial service will be at 2pm Friday, September 12, at Christ Central Church for Sue Carpenter Johnson, age 68, formerly of Rainbow City, who died September 9, 2014. Rev. Sherri Reynolds will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home will direct service.
Sue grew up in East Gadsden. She graduated from Gadsden High School, class of 1964. She went on to graduate from Jacksonville State University and later received her Master's degree from JSU. Sue taught high school at Weaver for over 30 years. Sue was an avid Alabama fan and Braves fan. The joy of her life was her grandchildren, Mitchell and Lila.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Vara Carpenter and her sister and brother-in-law Marvin and Jeanette Lynn.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lori Johnson (Rainbow City); grandchildren, Mitchell and Lila Johnson; nieces Deborah (Rick) Lankford and Rebecca (Randall) Richardson; and several great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Central Church Building Fund.

Visitation will be from 1-2 prior to the service.
