Mr. Steven Ronald Straut, Sr. passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010, at his home in Gadsden, Alabama.
Mr. Straut was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. After his service to his country he enjoyed his work at the following places while living in Florida. He was the owner operator of Inside-Out Maintenance Company, Lakeview Inc. where he worked as a maintenance supervisor, Armstrong Gulf Coast Enterprises, Amtel Marina and Hotel, where he was supervisor of housekeepers; he also worked for the State of Florida department of Management Services, also worked for WCI Inc. as a security provider. In 2007 he retired from West Bay Country Club where he was director of security. After his retirement he and Margie moved to Gadsden. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Straut; sons, Steven R. Straut, Jr. and John R. Straut; daughters, Carolyn E. Glass and M. Lynn Denson; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred E. Straut, Jr. and Peter B. Straut.
A memorial service will be held at 1:15 pm on Friday, March 19 at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fl.
