Funeral services were at 1pm Wednesday at Crestwood Chapel for Steven D. Sims,55, of Alabaster, Alabama, who died August 3, 2014. Brother Frank Samuels will officiate. Burial was be at Crestwood
Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home was in charge.
He was a former employee at Goodyear, City of Alabaster, and City of Irondale. He was a member of College Height Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents Sam Sims and Doris (Fowler) Sims of Gadsden; his daughters Keri (Mike) Monroe and Mandi (Jared) Clark; Grandsons Sam Monroe, Max Monroe, Jake Clark and John Henry Clark, of Birmingham; a number of Aunts, Uncles , Cousins and Friends; Step Sisters Denise (Eddie) Lindsey, Dieka(Ray) Rome ,Debbie (Gwen) Guffey and Dana(Tom) Bradley.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Vaughn, Terry Mozena, Stan Stubbs, Rickey Sims, Tim Sims and Steven Dial.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made on line to The Arthritis Foundation for Team Julia's Jules.
The Family received friends at the funeral home from 11am until time of service Wednesday.
