Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday in Crestwood Chapel for Stephen "Steve" W. Brackett, age 58 of Rainbow City, who died Sunday June 7, 2009. Rev. Billy Boatwright will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mr. Brackett was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 33 years. He was a member of the Gospel Temple. He was a prolific hunter. He was also an avid racing enthusiast and had a passion for building race cars.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Stevie Sheree' Lynne Brackett; Nephew, Douglas Logan; and parents, Oscar and Viva Brackett.
Mr. Brackett is survived by his very loving, devoted, and caring wife Judy King Brackett; Son, Dr. Stephen Ronald Douglas Bo Brackett; Brothers Jimmy R. (Hilda) Brackett, Gadsden, Paul (Gloria) Brackett, Jacksonville, Michael Brackett, Ringgold, GA, Larry (Mary) Brackett, Gadsden; Sisters Sandra (James) Nelson, Gadsden, Becky (Bob) Winn, Rome, GA, Carolyn (Charles) Jenkins, Wellington, Tina Starkey; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Winn, Patrick Nelson, Joshua Nelson, Jeremy Brackett, Jonathan Starkey, David Brackett, Joel Brackett, and Parrish Brackett.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 until 8 pm.
