A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 27th, 2014 at Crestwood Chapel for Shirley Thrasher, 78, of Gadsden, who died Sunday, December 21st, 2014. Rev. Wally Kinsman will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of directing services.
She will be remembered as the greatest Mom ever. She was an encourager to others and made them feel loved. She was a caregiver to many. She loved baseball and was a devoted Braves fan. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of animals and she loved flowers.
Mrs. Thrasher was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Varney Thrasher; infant daughter, Melisa; parents, Gordon Thrift and Bernice Ford; and brother, Randall Thrift.
She is survived by Kay (Rodney) Holliday, South Jordan, UT, Ray (Kim) Thrasher, Huntsville, Glenda (Lance) Roberson; grandchildren, Amanda, Allison, and Andrew Thrasher, Alex, Wesley, Rachel and Nicholas Cheatwood, and Brooke Holliday.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will accept friends at the funeral home from 10 until the time of the service.
