Funeral services will be 12 pm Tuesday, December 3,2024 at Crestwood Chapel, for Ms. Shirley Allen, age 89, of Gadsden, who died Friday November 29,2024. Billy Abrams will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery.

Shirley will be remembered as a Christian first and then as a strong willed independent woman who raised  4 children on  her own and lived life without a car ,walked all over Gadsden with a grandchild at her side complaining all the way but loving every minute of it. She retired from the Gadsden City School System working in the lunchroom and all the children loved her. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by parents Milford, Lillian and Audry. Sister Paula Graham and grandson Josh Fowler

She is survived by Richard Palmer, children Steve Madrie, Walter(Vicki) Madrie, Norma(Ralph) Williams, Allen(Patti) Carroll, grandchildren Steve Jr. Christy,Jonathon, Tim , Dale, Brittany, Kalee, Great grands Victoria, Elliott, Coleman, Conner, Luke, Owen, Alana, and Bryson and Kaitlyn. Great great grand Carter,  siblings Linda, Martha and David.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11 am until the time of service.
