Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday May 31, 2022, at Crestwood Chapel, for Mrs. Shirley Adkison, age 80, of Gadsden, who died Wednesday May 25,2022. Dr. Gary Ashley will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home announcing.

Shirley will be remembered for her love of family, and her caring nature. She would do for others, before she would do for herself. She worked for many years as a food service manager at K Mart before its closing and then worked for the Gadsden Times for a number of years. She loved taking art classes, and painting, and had over a hundred oil paintings to show for it. Her children considered her "The world's best mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a friend to all and will be dearly missed.

She is precede in death by her husband Gemare Adkison, parents Doyle and Ida Mae Morton and brother Ralph Morton.

She is survived by Donna Gregor, Keith (Imee) Hutchins, Ginger(Craig) Hunter, grandchildren Lisa(Preston) Yoder, Brad(Becky) Hutchins Richard Grimm, Travis Hutchins, John Francis(Morgan) Acapulco, Shannon Hutchins and 7 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11 am.
