Sherman Lamar East, 74, of Gadsden, Alabama, passed away on August 16, 2026. He was born on July 16, 1952.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Crestwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow. Jammy Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.

Sherman was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman E. and Margaret East; his sister, Wanda Wilcher; and his wife, Christine East.

He is survived by Amanda East and Tammy East; stepson, Chad Lipscomb; sister, Teresa (Rodney) Huff; five grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; and one great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Chris Baty and Matt Baty.
