Funeral services will be at 2 PM Friday, February 13, 2009 at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Shellie I. Wheeler , age 81, of Gadsden, who died on Wednesday, February 11, 2009. Pastor Darrell Brown and Dr. Cecil Brown will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mrs. Wheeler was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School in the Pre-School Department for over 40 yrs. She retired from the Gadsden City School System where she taught at General Forrest Middle School for 23 yrs.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband: John W. Wheeler Jr. sisters: Evelyn Keith and Annie Lou Willingham; brother: Fred Ingram
She is survived by her sons: John W. (Elizabeth) Wheeler III and Barry (Ann) Wheeler; grandchildren: Betsy (Chris) Mitchell, Meg Wheeler (Randall Huff), Brandon Wheeler and Nick Wheeler; great-grandchildren: Zane Wheeler and Reece Mitchell; brother: Harvey Ingram; special niece: Bobbie Thompson; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive flowers or donations can be made to Calvary Baptist Church P.O. Box 2036 Gadsden, Al. 35903.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Wheeler, Nick Wheeler, Chris Mitchell, Randall Huff, Kirk Minton and Jerry Fuller.
