Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Crestwood Chapel for Lynne Cornelius Bishop Duck, 54, Rainbow City, who died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012. The Revs. Mike Carroll and Jay Stewart will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home is directing.

Mrs. Duck was a longtime educator, having retired from St. Clair County Board of Education. She was currently teaching at Jefferson State Community College. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Cornelius. She is survived by her husband, Danny Duck; mother, Margaret Cornelius; son, Jason Bishop (Sonya); daughters, Dana Bishop (Tommy), Kristen Taylor (Brent) and Jessica Duck; sister, Susan Lowe (Randy); brother, John Cornelius (Robyn); grandchildren, Jamie Bishop, Leah Bishop, Monica Taylor, Destiny Taylor, Amber Tinker, Kaleigh Patterson, Jordan Taylor and Alexis Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Published in The Gadsden Times on January 1, 2013.
