Scharlene Atkins, age 86, of Gadsden, moved to her Heaven Home on December 10, 2021.

She was a member of 12th Street Baptist Church. She had a great life with her husband and family and enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, and especially helping others. She will be remembered most for always being there when someone needed her.

Scharlene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Atkins, her parents, Elvert and Gladys Thornton, her sisters, Ella Ruth Mullins, Doris Hudson and Elizabeth Edgeworth, and her granddaughter Kelly Atkins Young.

She is survived by her children, David (Kyla) Atkins and Dale (Mandie) Atkins, grandchildren Jonathan (Caitlin) Atkins, Amanda Atkins, and David (Taylor) Atkins, great grandchildren Joshua Young, JT Atkins, Micah Atkins and Waylon Atkins and great great granddaughter Evelynn Langford

Pall Bearers will be, David Atkins, Dale Atkins, Jonathan Atkins, David Atkins, Joshua Young and David Butler.

There will be a graveside service on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 1:00. The family will receive visitors beginning at 12:00 noon. Brother Don Young and Pastor Ron Pate will be officiating.
