Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at Forrest Cemetery for Sarah Earlene Roach, age 92, of Gadsden who passed away on March 18, 2021. Her former pastor Rev. Anthony Copeland will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.

Mrs. Roach was what would be described as a lovely Christian lady. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing for her Lord. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Roach was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School and was in one of the first graduating classes at UAB Nursing School. After nursing school, she devoted thirty years of her life to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Gadsden, where she worked as a registered nurse. She will be remembered as an excellent nurse and a loving mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband and father of her children Walter R. Bellamy, husband H.R. Roach, parents Earl and Grace Bayne, brother Horace Bayne, sisters Frances Laverty and Marie Karlinger, nephew Steve Lavery, stepsons Jerry Roach and Robert Roach Jr., and stepdaughter Virginia Wheeler.

Mrs. Roach is survived by her sons Rodney (Deborah) Bellamy and Timothy Bellamy, sister Jean Gilchrist, grandchildren Daniel Bellamy, Candace Morton, and Chris Bellamy, stepchildren Carolyn (Stanley) Pruitt and Delores Roach, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to issue a special thank you to the nurses with Amedisys Hospice who took such great care of Mrs. Roach.
