Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Sarah Kathleen Beard, age 81, of Webster's Chapel, who died on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Dr. Emmett Roper will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mrs. Beard was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and was a loving great grandmother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Beard; parents, Bill and Vera Satterfield; and her sister, Elizabeth Bryant.
She is survived by her children, Winsell (Susan) Beard, Kathy (Harold) Smith, Dwayne (Faye) Beard and Tammy Beard; grandchildren, Matthew (Stacey) Smith, Amanda (Patrick) Webb, Wendy (Scott) Chapman, Maholli (David) Hopper, Lee (Melinda) Amberson, Wesley (Bethany) Beard, Laura (Jaime) Early, April (James) Clinton and T.J. (Natalie) Beard; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Annie Lee (Billy) Bryant; brother, J.B. (Glenda) Satterfield; and sister-in-law, Nadine Noah.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
