Graveside services will be at 1PM Tuesday at Hokes Bluff Cemetery for Mrs. Ruth Pearson Mayhall age 79, of Hokes Bluff who passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009. Rev. Harvey Beck will officiate. Burial will be in Hokes Bluff Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Mayhall was a member of Hokes Bluff First United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women, and was a former Sunday School teacher. She was faithful to God, her church, her family, and her community. She always made everyone feel welcome at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolphus P. and Lucille Pearson; and grandson, Jerry Gunnin.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Mayhall, Sr.; sons, G.G. Mayhall, Jr., Dugan (Mary) Mayhall, Scott (Donna) Mayhall, Tom (Ruthie) Mayhall, Johnny (Kristy) Mayhall, and Pat (Kim) Mayhall; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numorous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff.
Pallbearers will be her sons.
Special thanks to Dr. James Robinson, Dr. Kaleem, Dr. Kwan, Dr. Hwang, and Dr. Ghafary, to the staff of Davita Dialysis , and to friends at Davita, Vanessa, Mrs. Campbell, and Elizabeth, to Alacare Home Health especially Misty and Jessica, and to the nurses and staff of the 9th floor of Gadsden Regional Medical Center. The family would also like to give a very special thanks to the may friends and neighbors who have lifted a prayer, sent a card, or any act of kindness shown to Mrs. Mayhall and her family.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8pm TONIGHT at Crestwood Funeral Home.
