Funeral services will be at 12 pm Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Crestwood Chapel for Ruby Nell Waters Chapman, age 83, who passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until noon, at the funeral home, prior to the service. Rev. Jeff Clevenger will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home will direct services.

Ms. Chapman was a native of Etowah County and had moved to Georgia in 1992. She was a member of Pike County Church of Christ. In her younger years she played league softball and enjoyed bowling. She loved watching Westerns and spending time with family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Ruby Waters and siblings Bill Waters, Dot Roberts, Jack Waters, Hugh Waters, Sue Hester and Joe Waters.

Ms. Chapman is survived by her children Greg Nelson (Lana), Diane Wise (Greg), and Mary Kay Odum (David); grandchildren Nicole Wise, Matthew Wise (Tiffany), Andrew Wise (Erica), Shelby Barron (Steven), Kyle Odum Crimson Hawthorne (Mark), Reba Coffey (Ian), Colin Nelson, and Griffin Nelson (Chelsea); great grandchildren Millie Wise, Ava Wise, and Sebastian Wise; brothers and sisters Bob Waters, James "Bud" Waters, Jean Cox, Kay Clevenger, and Barbara McDonald; many brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
