Ruby P. (Pettit) Gladden, 91, was called to her heavenly home on May 18, 2017. Funeral services will be at Crestwood Funeral Home on Saturday, May 20, 2017. The family will receive friends at Crestwood Chapel, beginning one hour prior to the graveside service, which will be at 1:00 PM.
Mrs. Gladden was born in Hartselle, AL, and lived in Gadsden for most of her life. She was a graduate of Etowah High School. She was preceeded in death by her loving, devoted husband of 58 years, Albert M. Gladden, her parents, B.B. and Opal Pettit, her infant brother, Harold, her sister, Ruth McDaniel, and her son-in-law Ralph Winningham.
Mrs. Gladden was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who devoted her life to her family. She was a faithful member of Fairview Road Church of Christ for many years.
She is survived by her son, Gary Gladden, daughter-in-law, Susan Gladden, Daughter, Gina Winningham, all of Gadsden, and grandson John Gladden, granddaughter-in-law, Janna Gladden, great-grandchildren, Grayson, Hudson, and Kennedy Gladden of Albertville, chosen grandsons Steve and Missy Winningham, Byron, GA, Phil and Susanne Winningham, Prattville, AL, and chosen great-grandsons, Kyle, Caleb, and Matthew Winningham. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Gene McDaniel, and sister-in-law, Arlene Gladden of Gadsden and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Pallbearers will be her grandson, John Gladden, and nephews, Danny Rubrigi, Randy Rubrigi, Marc Duncan, David Gladden, Leon Gladden, and Kerry Gladden.
The family wants to express their appreciation to the staff at Northside Health Care for the kindness and care given to their mother throughout her illness, and we also express our heartfelt gratitude to Janice Dearman, and Carol Palmer for the loving, and devoted care of their mother.
