Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Jo Harris Dean, 82, Southside, who died Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Crestwood Chapel. The Rev. Dave Roberts will officiate. Entombment will be in Crestwood Mausoleum. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Dean went to be with her LORD after a brief illness. She was a faithful charter member of Riverbend Baptist Church until she was unable to attend.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Carol W. (C.W.) Dean; parents, Fannie and James Virgil Harris; sister, Lois Harris Black; brother, James Virgil Harris Jr.; nephew, Jimmy Harris; in-laws, Earl and Waite Dean; and several sisters- and brothers-in-law.
She is survived by daughters Lisa (Alan) Tuck, Gadsden, and Jill Dean, Alabaster (Shelby County); grandchildren, Jaston Tuck and Brooke Tuck Ragsdale; great grandson, Cayden Tuck; special niece, Brenda Harris Miller; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Herman "Bud" Black.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , ALZ.ORG, or Riverbend Baptist Church Operation Christmas Child (Gadsden).
Honorary pallbearers are Alan Tuck, Jaston Tuck and Cayden Tuck.
Special thanks to Camelia Hospice staff and granddaughter Brooke Tuck Ragsdale for providing wonderful care to mom.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 am until the time of service.
