Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 29, at Crestwood Chapel for Mrs. Ruby Robertson Butler, who went to be home with the Lord at 12:15 Thursday, Sept. 27, in Florence, Ala. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. followed by her funeral service by Chaplain John Henry of the Florence Hospice. Interment will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct the service. Mrs. Butler was born Aug. 31, 1917, in Cherokee County, Ala., but had lived most of her life in Etowah County and was a longtime employee of Holy Name of Jesus Hospital in Gadsden. She was preceded in death by her husband, King Edward Butler; parents, William A. and Mary C. Walker Robertson; and all of her siblings, sister, Beatrice, and brothers, William C. and John H. The family would like to give thanks to Geneva Woods and her daughter, Dean Barnett, the entire staff of Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Home in Florence, and to the Florence Hospice who all provided loving care to Mrs. Butler.
