Roy Dale Morris, Sr. age 66, of Glencoe who died Wednesday, February 02, 2011.. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery.
Mr. Morris was a member of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. "Pop" as he was referred to by his grandchildren was an avid Alabama football fan. He was a 1962 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School and coached Pee Wee football in the mid 1970s winning several championships.
He was preceded in death by his parents JD and Ruby Morris; wife Patricia Akin Morris; daughter, Delite Morris Thomas; chosen son, William "Bill" Akin.
He is survived by his wife Marlion Morris;
Son Rod (Susan) Morris;
Grandchildren, Heather, Anna, and Emily Thomas, Laura and Trey Morris;
Brother, Charles (Patty) Morris, F.T. (Barbara) Morris, Joe (Linda) Morris, Jerry (Pam) Morris, and Ray (Jane) Morris;
Sisters, Gwen Kifer, and Elaine Spurlock;
Sister-in-laws, Jan (Rick) Bradley, Debbie (Sam) Peacock; mother-in law, Lenora Maddox; brother-in-law, Johnny (Ellen) Akin; numerous nieces and nephews.
