Funeral services were held Monday, January 18, 2025, for Mr. Roy Milford Mayben, age 87, of Gadsden, who passed away on January 13, 2025.
Pastor Cecil Clark officiated, and burial took place at Crestwood Cemetery.

Roy was a lifelong resident of Gadsden, Alabama. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and later worked as a police officer with the Gadsden City Police Department. He enjoyed spending time working in his yard and, in his later years, developed a love for his cats and fishing. Roy was married to his beloved wife, Carolyn Sue, for 68 years.

He was the last surviving child of James and Maggie Mayben. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maggie Mayben; his son, Ray Michael Mayben; and his siblings: June, Robert, Katherine, Polly, Sis, Orby, Ray, Gordon, and Howard.

Roy is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Mayben; daughter Janet (Phillip) Blair; grandchildren Josh, Valerie, David, and Dakota; and great-grandchildren.
