Funeral for Ronnie Payne age 72 of Gadsden who died Saturday March 21st will be 12 Noon Thursday at Crestwood Chapel. Pastor Richard Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.

Ronald (Ronnie) Payne was born on March 23, 1942 in Gadsden, Al. He graduated from Emma Samson High school in 1961. He was co-owner of Payne Craft Inc. Ronnie loved carpentry and was a master craftsman for many years. He loved Alabama football. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with his family. Ronnie (Pop) was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a member of Alabama City United Methodist Church. He is preceded by his parents George and Frances Payne.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda. His children Mary (Ray) Roberson, Bruce (Susan) Payne, and Janna (Rick) Bearden. His grandchildren Cindy Roberson, Joshua Roberson, Emily Payne, Brett (Heather) Roberson, Beau Payne, Nicholas (Briar) Roberson, Andrew Roberson, Mary Catherine Roberson, Hanna, Emma and Makenna Bearden. His great grand children, Kara and Grayson Payne.
His siblings Bonnie Jane (Roger) Fowler, Kathy (Richard) Martin, and Charles ( Laura) Payne. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Roberson, Brett Roberson, Beau Payne, Nicholas Roberson, and Andrew Roberson
Honorary Pallbearer is Steve MacMillan.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11 am until the hour of service.
