Funeral services will be 12 pm Friday, at Crestwood Chapel, for Mr. Roland L. New , age 75, of Gadsden, who died Monday. Reverend Dewayne New will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home announcing.

He was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School. After High school he enlisted in The United States Air Force and served overseas in Okinawa, and later a tour of Vietnam as an airplane mechanic. After leaving the Air Force he worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company until retirement. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2760.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Linda M. Gattis, his brothers Joseph W. Reese and Danny L. Reese.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years ,Martha(Dyralyn) New, sons, Brian New, Craig New, his sisters Tobie (Mark) Peck, Gina(Chris) Roberts, his brothers Teddy(Debbie) New, Dewayne (Sherry) New, Charles (Cheryl) Reese, Billy(Martha) Reese and Tommy(Rhonda) Reese.
