Funeral Service will be 2pm Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Crestwood Chapel for Roberta Smith, age 87, formerly of Glencoe, who passed away on Thursday April 18, 2024. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Doyce Putman will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Methodist Church Cemetery in Wellington, AL. Crestwood Funeral Home will direct services.

Roberta was a longtime resident of Etowah County and a graduate of Sardis High School. She had retired from Family Savings Credit Union . She was a member of Union Methodist Church in Wellington. She loved traveling, shopping, and visiting friends and family. Roberta most especially enjoyed time spent with her granddaughter and she absolutely adored her great grandson, Barron.

Roberta is preceded in death by her husband Read "Buddy" Smith; son James Barron Thomas; and her sisters Agnes Copeland and Ruth Miller.

She is survived by her granddaughter Xan Smith (David); Great grandson Barron Wayne Smith; and soon to arrive great granddaughter Ramsey Ovada Noelle Smith; niece Laura Stanton and nephews Dan Miller and Steve Miller.  Roberta had many dear and special friends; but to name a few: Dorman Robinson, Sandy Martin, Cindy Evans, Jean Pruett, Aloma Marker, and Barbara Martin.
