Funeral will be at 1:00 pm on 12/12/2022 at Crestwood Chapel for Robert Henry
Wagnon, 91, of Glencoe, AL who died December 6, 2022 peacefully at home.
Donny Yarbrough will officiate. Burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral
Home is in Charge.
Mr. Wagnon was a loving husband, Dad, and Granddad who deeply loved his family
and everyone he met. He was a devout Christian, a great witness for the Lord
(handing out thousands of small red 'Personal Bible Verses' booklets), and one of
the youngest men ordained as deacon at Paden Baptist Church when he was in his
20s. He is a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church, Glencoe. Robert loved
nature, where he recognized God's promise – especially flowers. He was an avid
bird watcher. Robert was also a gifted poet.
Robert was an Alabama Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Gadsden,
Alabama for many years. He was admired for the accuracy of his work; he was
called 'the best Land Surveyor in Alabama' by a peer. Robert retired from
Arrowhead Associates as its Owner and Operator.
Mr. Wagnon was preceded in death by the love of his life for 70 years, Burma
Norwood Wagnon, and by his parents Herman and Louise Wagnon, brothers Albert
Lloyd Wagnon, Hyram L. Wagnon, Jerry Lee Wagnon, and Jack Allen Wagnon.
Mr. Wagnon is survived by his brother Roy Wagnon, sister Sadie Brown (Wallace),
children: Steven Carthell Wagnon, Alan Robert Wagnon (Elaine), Rebecca (Becky)
Carol Wagnon Henson (Steve), and Susan Burma Wagnon Campbell (Randy),
grandchildren: Angela Word (Randy), Cammy Floyd (Jason), Rachel Warren
(Nathan), Amanda Lansdale (Josh), Daniel Henson (Staci), Daryl Henson (Megan),
and Miles Hinkle (Deana), fifteen great grandchildren, and three great-great
grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Daniel and Daryl Henson, Miles Hinkle, Jason Floyd, Nathan
Warren, Josh Lansdale, and Randy Word.
Honorary pallbearers are Bruce, Mark, and Scott Wagnon, Vann Brown, Terry,
Glen, Darryl, and Ronny Norwood.
Special thanks to Glencoe Fire Department, Enhabit Hospice, FBC Glencoe Church,
and special neighbors Joe and Ann Brothers.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
