Robert Rogers Cobb, 81, of Munford passed away December 29, 2020. A celebration of life service will be January 3, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Brookside Baptist Church of Oxford. The Reverend Rodney Cox and Reverend Chris Spurlin will be officiating.
Rogers is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rachael; daughter, Sherry Pennington (Tommy); son, Michael Cobb (Karen); daughter, Rhonda Cobb; son, Clifton Cobb (Jennifer); grandchildren, Nathaniel Smith (Lindsay), Daina Robles (Micho), Joseph Smith (Donna), Jarrod Cobb (Ashley), Alan Brooks, Tyler Cobb (Katherine), Danielle Bolen (Patrick), Collin Searcy (Paige), Breanna Taylor (David), Callye Cobb, A.J. Cobb, Maddie Cobb, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother, Euna Cobb; sisters, Annette McGuire, Barbara Cox (Roger), and Rachel Alldredge (Johnny), sisters in-law Rebecca Freeman and Marilyn Harrell.
Rogers is preceded in death by his father, Drenon Cobb; grandchildren, Logan Cobb and Christopher Searcy,brother in-law Richard McGuire.
He was a 1957 graduate of Munford High School. He retired after 34 years with Alabama Gas Corporation as a Distribution Mechanic. He was a current member of Ironaton Methodist Church and a past member of Munford Methodist Church for 55 years. Rogers' life reflected dedication to serving the Lord and sharing Christ with others. He served as Sunday School Superintendent, Chairman of the church board, and numerous years as Trustee. He enjoyed spending time in the garden and working on antique cars and motorcycles. He instilled his passion for motorcycles in his children and grandchildren, which will continue to live on. His personal motto was, "If somebody can build it, I can fix it."
Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Smith, Joseph Smith, Jarrod Cobb, Tyler Cobb, Alan Brooks, Collin Searcy, and A.J. Cobb.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ironaton Methodist Church, P.O. Box 32, Munford, AL 36268. Special thanks to Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center and their Intensive Care Unit staff for their compassion and care.
