Robert Dewey "Bob" Sansom, Jr. of Southside, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015 after a brief illness. Bob graduated from Marion Military Institute and received his B.S. Degree from Auburn University. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the US Army. Bob began his career in the brick manufacturing industry at Ragland Brick Company and retired in 2000 from the Louisiana Department of Transportation. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Dewey Sansom, Sr. and Edith Turner Sansom of Gadsden, AL. He is survived by Nancy Love Sansom, his loving wife of 62 years, and his brother Turner (Maurine) of Mesa, AZ; his son Allen of McCalla, AL and children Eric, Katie, and Cody (Sarah); son Paul of Helena, AL and daughters Emily and Sarah; and son John (Robin) of Richmond, VA and sons Hayden and Reece; and great-grandchildren Casen and Ellery Martin and Fletcher Sansom. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Ragland United Methodist Church will the Reverend Ben Vernon officiating.
